Security Message for U.S. Citizens: 15th Anniversary of the 9/11 Attacks

This message is being issued to remind U.S. citizens residing in, or traveling to Timor-Leste that Sunday, September 11, 2016, represents the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. While there is no current threat information that indicates that U.S. interests in Timor-Leste are being targeted, the U.S. Embassy would like to remind all U.S. citizens to be vigilant during this time.

Review your personal security plans, remain aware of your surroundings, including local events, and monitor local news stations for updates. Be vigilant and take appropriate steps to enhance your personal security.
