U.S. Ambassador Karen Stanton Remarks on the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the Vatobou Health Clinic

Good morning. I am happy to be here with all of you today to inaugurate the newest addition to Liquiçá District: the Vatobou Health Clinic.

I would like to thank the Ministry of Health, USAID, and the Seabees for their collaboration in building this clinic, which will provide health care for more than 5,000 residents.

The clinic is the latest of several projects that the Ministry of Health and the U.S. Navy Seabees have built together in Timor-Leste. It is also represents the close friendship between our countries.

The United States remains committed this relationship. We hope to develop more projects like this in the future, which benefit both the Timorese and the American people.

Congratulations to all of our partners and friends. Thank you very much.
