To His Excellency Vice Minister of Health Luis Lobato, Secretary to the Manatuto District Administrator Agripino Costa, our partners in local & national government, community members, and of course, the U.S. Navy Seabees. Bom dia.
I am happy to be here with all of you today on behalf of the United States Embassy in Timor-Leste to open this new medical facility for Uma Kaduak Health Center. It is the latest of several projects that the U.S. Navy Seabees have completed after almost a decade of service in Timor-Leste. By working alongside Timorese government, military, and civil society members on multiple infrastructure projects, the Seabees demonstrate what we can achieve when we work together. The United States is proud of this work. This new facility will provide better access to quality medical care and serve as a valuable resource for the 3,500 members of the local community. I would like to thank the NMCB FOUR, the Ministry of Health, and the various partners who collaborated in this remarkable effort. We hope to work with the Ministry of Health, the military of Timor-Leste F-FDTL and other partners to develop more projects like this in the future, which benefit both the Timorese and the American people.
Thank you for allowing me and all of my U.S. Embassy colleagues to share this wonderful achievement with you today. Congratulations to all of our partners and friends. Obrigada barak.
