What Service Do You Require?
Overseas voter assistance is provided by the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP), on the web at www.fvap.gov. Completed ballots in appropriately addressed and U.S. postage-paid envelopes may be dropped off at the Embassy between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.; tell the guards that it contains voting material. Embassy Dili will return the ballot to the U.S. for you. Normal transit time from Timor-Leste to the United States is approximately four weeks.
The fee for notarial services is $50 per document to be notarized. You must appear in person to have notarial services performed. Consistent with U.S. law and Department of State policy, U.S. Consular Officers may provide specific notarial services for any person regardless of nationality so long as the document being notarized is required for use within the jurisdiction of the United States and authorized by relevant U.S. law. For documents to be used in Timor-Leste, please contact a local notary. For documents to be used in another jurisdiction, such as Indonesia or Australia, you may wish to consult with the corresponding authorities in that jurisdiction or the local representative.
