United States Embassy hosts 3rd Annual Continuing Judicial Development Seminar

group of participantsU.S. Embassy Dili hosted the 3rd Annual Continuing Judicial Development Seminar in Dili, from August 26-28, 2015, with a special focus on judicial opinion writing, case management, ethics, other legal issues, as well as several case studies.

This seminar, facilitated by U.S. Embassy’s Resident Legal Advisor Glenn Alexander and visiting U.S. Federal District Judges Timothy Burgess and Deborah Smith, was an opportunity for U.S. and Timorese judges to share their experiences and best practices in each other’s countries. This training is part of the Embassy’s ongoing assistance to help strengthen capacity in the justice sector in Timor-Leste.
